Non-accounting career after Big 4?

I’m starting at a Big 4 this coming Fall. I’ve never liked accounting (as many people I know) and never planned on a career in accounting. I majored in it in college because I was pressured into by my adviser since I did well in the intro courses. I’m extremely thankful to have gotten this job (Audit at Big 4), but I was just wondering if this can still be beneficial to me if I choose to leave accounting for another career (I was thinking something more related to financial adviser/something where I’m dealing with people more but still able to capitalize on my Big 4 Experience).

Another question is that if I do choose this route, is the CPA exam worth completing? I’ve so far passed FAR back in December, but I don’t want to spend all the time/money finishing this exam if I won’t have any use for it in the future.

Any advice/stories you could provide to give me some insight would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Definitely do the CPA exam. You're working for the Big 4, they pay for it, and you've already passed a section. At the very least it's a good thing to have to fall back on.

    F - 86
    R - 90
    A - 97
    B - 91
