Hey guys, just wondering if anyone out there had some tips for attending Meet the Firms. I have never been to one before. I have only been to local accounting firms career nights and they are pretty casual. I am so nervous, and I always feel so awkward at these types of events. If anyone has some tips and pointers it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So I got back a couple of hours ago and it went alright. The school of business at the University where I live is fairly small so there was actually only four tables there in which I was only really interested in one. I think I made a good impression? It seems like it doesn't even do much though because there are a fair amount of people there and they most likely do not remember most and most of them don't want to take your resume because they prefer to use the one submitted on our career services web page. I wish they had alcohol at one of those…

One of the many things I hate about interviews and especially phone interviews, they ask you how many years of experience you have in Accounting or Bookkeeping? Then they mention that you're not qualified, we need people with more experience, one time I asked the HR employee two questions : 1- How do you know that I don't qualify for the position you have? 2- Explain to me what's the way you state that a position requires three years of experience? Maybe I'm smarter than average people and learnt faster, or I'm less smart and learnt slower. Right? She couldn't answer my question. What do you think people, do I have a good point of view?
