Anyone out there work for McGladrey? I just received an “firm offer” from McGladrey and a “soft offer” from Deloitte. Deloitte reached out to me and said I was going to get an offer, but they need to get approval from corporate headquarters since they had to create the opening, and once they get approval they will extend a firm offer. Anyone out there ever work for both? If you work or have worked at either of these places what do you like/dislike? I like the people at both places and think working for both would be great. I am just having a tough time deciding between the two.

Current McGladrey employee here and I must say I do love it. Great company and a great firm. I interviewed at Deloitte and had a similar office but I just seemed to gel better with McGladrey people. The one thing I have heard from people that work at or have worked at both is that with McGladrey you get alot of facetime with the Partners which never happens at the big 4. Big 4 is the sexier resume choise but McGladrey can provide a better learning experience

McGladrey was the last firm I worked at. I ended up having an abusive boss that made me quit after 4 months.

McGladrey acts like a Big 4 firm so you might as well just work at a real Big 4 firm.

That being said every office/location has its own culture.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"
