Hi Everyone. I am looking for any advice which I can get on steps I can take after CPA (I’ve googled it every possible way and I got zilch).

I wont take up much of your time, so in a nutshell – I am a Certified CPA (2012) and I am currently working for one of the Big 4s (it will be 4 years in September), but I am getting really restless right now. I want to get out, but I have NO idea what to do. I can’t leave without having a definite plan. I decided I have these options in front of me –

    (i) Pursue an MBA – [Is CPA + MBA a favorable combination?]

(ii) Pursue Masters in say Applied Finance – [Masters vs MBA? Will I be taking a step backward if I do a Masters after completing my CPA?]

    (iii) Specialization –

    (iv) Another job? –

I am really stuck and I think my brain will turn into mush if I do not get out soon. I would appreciate any kind of advice on the above or anything else you can think of. Thanks in advance! =)

Consulting? I seen a lot of job posting on I think Deloitte website for benefit plan consulting. I'm really big into the consulting idea right. I know it's a lot of travel but after a year or 2 I'm sure a lot of opportunity would arise

What do you want? Would you want to work in a company similar to a client you've dealt with? Do you want to be able to open your own accounting shop? Any other plans down the road, i.e. kids, etc?

I would be extremely cautious about going back to school unless someone else is paying for some or all of it. Even those from the top 3 MBA programs are just getting by, along with their truckloads of debt.

    Couldn't pass again!
