Yes, it is. I got an interview with one of the big 4 a couple years ago and they NEVER go to my school's campus (not an “accounting” school and also pretty small, so not worth their time I guess). To get the interview I had a current employee forward my resume directly to HR and they called me back in no time. I didn't get the job, but I did at least get the in-person interview. If possible, get any current employee to forward it for you (I had my little brother's friend, who I'd never even met, agree to forward mine). It'll probably harder to get the interview without getting that campus recruiting, but it is still 100% possible to do so. Also, I never heard back from any of the other big 4 where I could not get an employee to forward my resume because I had zero connections to those.

I work at a Big4, I'd say it's pretty difficult to get entry-level interviews without campus recruiting (from what I've seen). I can submit your resume if interested but can't promise much.

I actually did ask a friend of my friend (whom I also never met) to forward my resume. He did, and he txted me yesterday saying that I should expect a call from recruiting any time now…

I didnt get anything yet, though it's only been a day…

Can you tell me what did they ask you on the phone? Should I be prepared for a full-length interview or is it just some formality before an in-person interview?

How did your interview go? Why do you think you did not get the job?

If I remember correctly the phone interview was basically just some simple background, get-to-know-you type questions, nothing too bad. There were probably two main reasons I didn't get the job: 1. The big 4 do NOT recruit my school, so nobody ever bothered explaining how that whole process works and I was caught very off guard by the whole thing; 2. I'm naturally a pretty quiet, reserved guy and they seem to like people who have the exact opposit personality. It seems like the entire thing is designed to interview personality and things like education, skills, and abilities are just an afterthought. I just didn't know that ahead of time to prepare myself for that:(
