I had a few questions regarding tax controversy work at the big 4 and midsized accounting firms.
1. Do the big 4 and midsized accounting firms have a lot of tax controversy work? I’m not familiar enough with these sectors of the accounting industry to know if accounting firms get a good portion of this work, or whether most corporations and wealthy individuals farm most of the tax controversy work out to law firms.
2. If the big 4 and midsized accounting firms do get a good share of the tax controversy work, do they have dedicated teams of attorneys and EAs that primarily, or entirely do tax controversy work, rather than tax compliance and or planning?
3. If they do have dedicated tax controversy teams, do they hire into these teams entry level and or lower level experienced hires?
Thanks in advance for the help,
bisognor
