Is Big 4 experience really needed?

    I’ve been working as an internal auditor for about two years now, and I am well on my way to a senior position. My question is: should I put the breaks on the internal audit career to get some Big 4 experience? I don’t feel like I need the experience immediately in order to land a staff/senior level job, but will not having worked in Big 4 hold me back later in my career?
