Can anyone guide me of how to look for a job in BIG 4? I have no connections wtsoever

You pretty much need to know someone as a lead so try and network as much as you can. Go to CPA society things, utilize your school's career services and relationship with firms, etc.

Edit: Though this assumes you've already tried applying already too and maybe don't have a specifically sought after specialty that is being sought from non-referral type hiring.

You can try their website, but you probably will not have much luck as you will be among hundreds or thousands of other applicants. If you have no contacts within the company, then try and build a relationship with one or two of the main recruiters for your area. Call them directly, email them, and go to their events. Make sure you introduce yourself, and touch base with them periodically. Make sure you express to them your interest in a position with their firm. Ask them what more you can do to improve your skills for the particular position you are applying for.

I was in the same exact position a month ago. I'm a foreign grad; hence, campus recruitment was not an option. Yes, our friends above are right in saying that connecting with people would be your best way of getting in. It worked for me. 🙂

Here's how I did it:

– Ask friends/family if they know people who are already inside. Don't hesitate on letting them introduce you. Once you get in touch with, ask them politely if they could help you in getting in.

– Sign up at linkedin.com; look for recruiters or other key people who could help you (schoolmates would be good)

I did not put much weight on working for a Big 5 (at the time) when I got out of school and I ended up fine. Very few job postings look for Big 4 employment on your resume to qualify for a job. If you can get a job elsewhere, I would not worry about it.
