If I just became a CPA and said I want to work for big 4 anywhere in the country any division, how long would it take me to get a job?

You're going to want to choose a few cities you would like to work in as well as service line. It's not always a good idea to say you'll do anything anywhere. For a best chance, I would target the larger markets LA, Chicago, NYC, Dallas, etc. Also know that there are a lot more positions open for audit then any other service line.

    BEC Oct2014 - 85
    AUD Jan2015 - ??
    REG Feb2015 - ??
    FAR May2015 - ??

And once you are a CPA you'd still need public accounting experience to get an experienced associate position with big 4.

    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)

Why would you wonder about this if you did everything you can not to work at big 4?

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)

There is so much more to getting a Big 4 job than credentials like passing the exams or GPA. Short answer is could be 2 weeks, could be never. There are other factors like timing, personality, appearance (don't let anybody tell you looks don't count-regardless of how wrong that is, it happens!)

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.
