So I got referral from a friend of a friend at EY applying for entry level audit around mid Oct of last year and she told me that it is done through some referral database system where she would submit resume as a referral with a statement saying why I would be a good candidate does anyone know if that is how it usually works. Does it matter what level the referral is coming from partner, senior manager, manager etc.

Once you're in the database, a recruiter should follow up on your resume. In addition, your friend is supposed to be contacted to let her know your resume was looked t.

If not, your friend should probably follow up with the head recruiter in her sub area.
