E-mail recruiter? - Page 2

I talked on the phone with a B4 recruiter last week after a partner asked him to give me a call. He asked which locations I was interested in, which line of service, and asked me to forward him my transcripts, which I did last Wednesday. Should I e-mail and ask him if he’s had a chance to review my transcripts or should I just forget about it and forget about accounting? =/

Getting at them directly is ideal, but having your name in their database is never a bad thing. For many interviews that is a prerequisite step anyway I think.

“Is it worth filling out the “Talent Profiles” that can be found on the career pages of the Big4 firms? Or should I be trying to connect directly with recruiters via LinkedIn and/or email?”

Just politely ask him if he received your transcripts ok and if he needs any other information from you.

@ParanoidAndroid – Have you ever herd of “following up”? Send him an email, keep in contact. SHOW SOME DAMN INTEREST! This is how the recruiters get to know you and want to pick you. There is nothing wrong with being persistent and staying in contact. You are about to enter into the professional world, you better improve and perfect your networking skills; this is a great opportunity to do so.

There should be a sticky that just has that sentence. It boggles me how many students don't realize how much a personal network is worth.
