    Hello all,

I will be attending orientation for EY in NJ this Tuesday. The attire says “Business casual (jeans + business casual is admissible in all EY offices)”. So I was going to wear dress shoes, dress pants and long sleeve button down. My question is, will this attire be appropriate? The reason I ask is because I don’t want to be the only one not in a suit, but I also don’t want to be overdressed. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It should be fine. Slightly overdress is better. Don't wear jeans then you good.

If you're really worried, bring a sports jacket.

What you’re wearing is fine. Nobody wears suits anymore unless you’re going to meet a client.

You might want to ask those in the NJ office what they wear. I worked in the Kansas City EY office for a while and we were super casual for the most part. Do you have a mentor there you're assigned whom you could ask?

Your plan sounds perfect. My EY office (not NJ but Northeast region) is very much business casual. You'd be out of place in a suit.

A few people always come to orientation wearing suits on the first day. They're the ones who look out of place.
