Conditional Promotion to Manager

Waiting on Q2 exam scores and was told I was eligible for a conditional promotion to manager while waiting on the score. Anyone familiar with what a conditional promotion entails?

I would assume it means you get demoted if you did not pass.
The condition of conditional is usually that you pass the CPA exam.
