@Mayo…Notre Dame is the top accounting school in the nation…then BY and UT….All of them freaking expensive =[

    CPA for life...

@ParanoidAndroid, Mayo is correct…at least according to U.S. News & World Report (granted there are about a million rankings out there). Maybe Notre Dame is at the top of a different ranking…or maybe they're #1 for undergrad programs?

BusinessWeek has had them as the #1 undergrad business school for the past few years. That isn't broken down into majors

Rankings are pretty stupid IMO, after awhile, no one really cares what school you went to. Yes, if you go to a certain school you can place well in certain parts of the country, but when it comes down to it, Big 4 hires people in droves and as long as you are somewhat presentable, have an okay GPA, and network a little, you're in.

I didn't go the best school but still ranked and I still managed to get interviews and summer leaderships, i'm not saying it's cakewalk but it's not like the top schools get all the offers and then the scraps fall onto the no name schools.

In summary, if you didn't/don't go to the best school don't feel discouraged, with enough work anyone can get in. There are some markets (i.e. San Jose, Dallas) that will take if you have a pulse.

Why do you say those markets will take you if you have a pule?

    FAR - 81
    REG - 81
    AUD - 82
    BEC - 81

    Ethics - Done
    State License Exam - Done

License - Licensed CPA in Utah

I joke, it's not that easy to get into those markets, just easier than most. The reason I say it's easier is because they have such a high need, turnover is crazy as the job market is bustling in San Jose and Dallas, as such they need to replace. You still need to a high caliber employee to get in.

For Dallas, Texas is known to have very good accounting schools and if you're out of state, it can be tough. San Jose has good accounting schools too (UC Berkeley/Davis/San Jose State) but the economy out there is exploding which makes is easier.
