Honestly, disregard the title of this post, I have just been staring at Suretyship for way too long now that all sanity is gone. My question to everyone is, I have pretty bad overall GPA (2.8) but my accounting GPA is a 3.6. I used to be a biomedical engineering major and then realized that I was no Dr.OZ after a few failed classes. I got an offer from a big 4 firm, still in awh, and am currently going through the background check right now. Yesterday’s big score release day was bitter sweet for me as I passed AUD but failed FAR, the one section I prayed I never had to look at again. Will my firm fire me or rescind my offer because I failed this section? Should I volunteer that information even? Part of the reason I believe I was even extended an offer is because I sat for three exams within 1 month of graduating. I plan to retake FAR September 7th which is one week before I start working.

I wouldn't expect your offer to be rescinded. Most if not all first year people are still testing when they start work at a Big 4 or any public accounting for that matter. Them seeing you take several exams in a short window certainly shows drive. But, with the pass rates as low as they are it would not make sense for them to make you an offer expecting you passed all of them off the bat.
