I accepted an offer with EY and will beginning this Fall. I am kind of confused on the salary. Will I get paid overtime or will I be able to charge for hours worked over 40? Or do I just get paid my annual salary, no matter how many hours over 40 I work?

Congrats!

You'll only get paid your base salary regardless of how many hours you work. However, you'll likely have to fill out a timesheet each week to keep track of your chargeable hours.

LOL – welcome to Big4 life – I would highly recommend never calculating your hourly rate based on your timesheets during season.

All in all – it isn't bad as long as you like the people you work with & don't get stuck on awful clients!

welcome to literally every single salaried position….there is a reason it is a salaried position not an hourly one

Rule of thumb is you're doing it for the experience and not the money. We get paid just enough to not complain but still underpaid depending on your client situation. I worked a consistent 50 hours a week in busy season so I'm happy with my pay but someone who has put in 90+ will feel completely different.
