Good afternoon,
I am trying to get a general idea of whether I am getting a fair offer from a Big 4 firm or not. The recruiter asked my past salary, I was honest with her (55k) and she said the range for this job would be 61-65k for a 2 year exp. associate.
Can anyone let me know if this is comparable to the other Big 4 firms hiring in NYC? I checked Robert Half’s salary guide and the low end for salaries for this position at large firms was 63k. Included was a salary adjustment for NYC of 1.4 brinigng the total to around 88k… Is this overstated? any hlep or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 years of private industry exp. and am half way to my CPA (FAR pass and I’m pretty sure I passed AUD).
I am recently married and my wife will be in school for the next few years and I am worried about our financial stability if I am in NYC… I have never lived in an area with such a high cost of living and have no idea what to expect or how to estimate cost v. salary.
PLEASE help 🙂
