Is there a greater chance of being hired by a Big 4 Accounting Firm if I already passed the CPA exam?

I also heard that there is some kind of bonus for passing the CPA exam while working for a Big 4 firm. I’m assuming this doesn’t apply if you’re coming in having already passed it.

Passing the exam shows huge initiative, so yes, it is a huge marker that will put you ahead of otherwise equal peers. One girl I was hired with had it done before she was hired, but she didnt have experience and was hired as a first year auditor, her offer included bonus eligibility. So right when she started she applied for her bonus and received it a few paychecks later 😀

I would expect the same thing. Your application moves up in the pile because you have the exam passed, but its not WHY they are hiring you. They are hiring you for the same reasons they hire everybody, so you shouldnt be penalized because you knocked out the exam ahead of time IMO

I also heard from a regional CPA firm that they do give you the bonus even if you passed all 4 parts prior to starting your job with them.

But you might want to ask specific firms if you need a more accurate answer.

First because the person you're talking to may not know, which dampers the conversation, and second because either the offer will have it or it won't. If it doesn't that's when I would have a little chat with recruitment.
