After reading on the forums, and deciding if I should give the big 4 a try, I decided I wanted to go for it even though it might mean a $10k pay cut… Take a step back and lounge 5 steps forward right?
Anyway, I’ve had 4 referrals (Pwc , Deloitte, KPMG) already because due to the fact about 65% of my classmates got accepted to a big 4 right after college. I guess this was due to our somewhat more specialized major? (Accounting Information Systems; or you may call it IT Audit). But I didn’t get in, and I’m going to assume it’s my GPA of 3.1
I’ve applied a month ago, and still haven’t even gotten a call for an interview. What am I doing wrong?
What particular skills / knowledge / or anything at all do they look for? My title right now is accounting clerk, but you can pretty much call me as a GL Accountant or Staff accountant , because of the duties I’m responsible for. At one point, I even subbed for the senior accountant who was out. I have good knowledge of SOX 404, compliance, audits, etc.
My question is, are there any specific keywords / qualities I should put on my resume? I’m only seeking to obtain an associate level position since I’m obviously not as experienced.
