accounting firms – changing start dates

    anyone ever asked to change their start dates to an earlier date?

    thoughts on how the big 4 process this?

    Nothing negative is going to happen by asking. Just ask, they will either say yes or no. I've never asked for an earlier start date, but almost always ask for a later start date. I've never had an employer not accommodate a later start date, including Big4.

    If you haven't passed the exam, don't start earlier.

    Moral of the story, don't do your CPA while working in Big 4 Public Accounting.

    I'd change it to as late as possible. Last chance before working for the next 30+ yrs.
