I would really like to take BEC by August 15th in order to get a test out of the way before my tax busy season. I'm unsure of the best way to effectively and efficiently study.
I have Becker and watching the lectures just takes up too much time. Mainly people offer the suggestion of just doing a bunch of multiple choice questions but I still need some type of structure and outline of the topics instead of just diving right in.
I really don't know what to do, any advice would be appreciated.July 21, 2021 at 11:30 pm #3304993colin.fayParticipant
I'm not sure how Becker is structured. I use Roger, and passed BEC on my first attempt. I watched all the lectures and did the MCQs. I winged the written portion for the most part and only looked at the AICPA Sample test written communication as review.
Your previous scores included in your footer seem to indicate you just need a little boost in order to get this part under your belt. I would suggest finding your worst scoring MCQ category and trying to improve your running score. Once it's no longer your worst scoring category, go find your next worst scoring category. Rinse and repeat until you feel comfortable or it is test day.
Taking a practice (mock) exam one week before your test day is key as well as it will be a good indication of what your test day will look like. If you notice any underperforming areas, I would focus those areas in your final week of studying.
Best of luck!July 23, 2021 at 3:18 pm #3305008ReckedParticipant
Crams the videos as fast as you can, and hammer the MCQs.
That's what worked best for me and my particular learning style.July 23, 2021 at 8:48 pm #3305011CPAHOPEParticipant
Only watch the videos on topics you have trouble with. This saves alot of time. Then hammer mcs and sims for BEC. BEC is not easy, you need to fix all your weaknesses to pass. Im doing that for AUDIT and its definitely not funJuly 26, 2021 at 2:15 pm #3305026ReckedParticipant
25 exams and counting, that's incredible motivation for everyone to keep pushing forward!!
